The movie opens with aerial shots over Northern California,
though I do not know which hills these are.

This view of the Golden Gate Bridge is from above the
southernmost end of Marin County.

The first picture shows the helicopter closer to the Golden Gate Bridge and the second one shows it passing Aquatic Park.

My grandfather, Walter G. Suggs Jr., was a San Francisco
firefighter, so I was pleased to see this dedication (though he didn't die in a fire). The building in the background is S.F. City Hall.

This view of downtown San Francisco includes two fictional buildings that were added in with special-effects. The taller one, the Glass Tower, is supposed to be 138 stories tall.

The ground-level exterior of the Glass Tower is the Bank of America building at 555 California Street at Kearny Street.

The main lobby was filmed at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 5 Embarcadero Center on Drumm Street at Market.

The Simmons house was filmed at 2898 Vallejo Street at Baker Street in Pacific Heights.

This is San Francisco Fire Department Station #38 at 2150 California Street at Laguna Street.

This is a nice FX shot of McQueen hanging in front of the scenic elevator, with Treasure Island, Yerba Buena Island, Berkeley, and Oakland in the background.
